FONTS, COLORS, and OTHER TOMFOOLRY

Nobody wants their eyes accosted, okay? Nobody. If you are looking to have your eyes accosted, go look up ED and get off this board. If you don't know what ED is, you need to get out into the internets more, I guess. Whatever the case, here are some things to look out for.

This board's background is dark, and it is going to stay dark.
Do not use BLACK or DARK GRAY as your posting color, and think you're real clever because readers have to highlight your shit to read it. You will have your posts re-colored by a mod, and if you continue to be an asshole, we will just delete your posts and make you write them again in a better color. The primary color is a light gray/white, so that's easy enough to read.

If you want to mess around with your color, to it tastefully.
Nobody wants to read a whole post of BRIGHT FUCKING PINK or DIFFICULT TO READ BLUE, so just cut that shit out, alright? Play with it if you want to, and find something that works. Remember that not all monitors see all colors the same, and take that into account if you are being some kind of shitty perfectionist and matching the color of your eyes or whatever bullshit is the latest fad, I don't know what people do these days.

If you have difficulty seeing the tiny words on your screen, then change your monitor settings, don't make your font ENORMOUS to compensate. Your font will appear ENORMOUS to everyone else too, and that's just not acceptable.

The new cool thing on forums is to have some kind of gnarly signature or banner in your sig-line, but please, for god's sake, do not put anything animated or glittery in your sig line. It is also not appropriate to have a GIANT IMAGE in there, or a link to your favorite porn site or webcomic or other forum or etsy account or blog or WHATEVER. If you want to connect with other users socially, you can do so by PM'ing them and striking up a conversation one on one.

ICONS are FANTASTIC, and you can put pretty much anything you want in those. But please don't use animated icons, a picture is quite enough. Hell, it can be a picture of a penis if you want, so long as it stays stationary, and doesn't glitter.

This isn't a social networking site, and it's not your personal website, so don't make your posts intolerable looking. Other people are here to read them, that's the name of the game.
